Newark Jail Birds starter Botol Soverosa turned in a top-notch performance against the Carson City Mustang at Cowboys Stadium. The result was a win for the Jail Birds, 3-2. John Freemann got the save, his 18th in 21 chances. Newark bumps their record to 39-43 with the win.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when first baseman Brendan Webb, who is rated as the 71st best prospect by BNN, hit a single. The Jail Birds went on to win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Soverosa said.
