Bernard Helps Sandy Springs Cruise to 10-2 Win
|
Sandy Springs catcher Thomas Bernard made his presence felt in the 10-2 Spartans triumph over the Marysville Monarchs. Bernard was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The Spartans bumped their record to 42-36 with this latest triumph.
The Spartans got a big at-bat from first baseman Douglas Dill. For the game, Dill was 1 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Sandy Springs a 2-1 lead.
