Shamrocks Prevail, 6-4, Over DeKalb
|
Pacifica catcher Balik Godambe made his presence felt in the 6-4 Shamrocks triumph over the DeKalb Cornhuskers. Godambe was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Leland Bullins got credit for the win, improving to 8-2. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings. Mudasser Sabzvari, credited with the save, is now 17 for 23 in save opportunities.
Godambe contributed a big hit, a 2-run single, for Pacifica in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Godambe took a slider from Ray Burns and stroked the single to center. His 11th hit of the season allowed the Shamrocks to leap in front, 4-3.
"We played hard and won," said Godambe. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
Pacifica now has a 3-game win streak.
