Monarchs Need Extra Frames to Get Past Spartans
Kieran Alexander did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Sandy Springs Spartans from losing, 6-5, to the Marysville Monarchs at Mitts Fieldhouse. Alexander was 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. With the win, the Monarchs have a record of 36-38.

The Monarchs beat the Spartans with some clutch hitting. The single by George Cromsie in the bottom of the 11th is a good example. With two down, Cromsie gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he came through with the big hit.

"This place was rockin'," said Cromsie.
