Black Bears Come Back Late to Clip Predators
The Black Bears faced a stiff challenge from Topeka pitcher Angel Chavez, but persevered to claim a win at The Field at Richmond. The final score was 7-5. Chavez went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Fraser Valley reliever Yoichibei Matsubara picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Tomas Fuentes shouldered the loss. The Black Bears bumped their record to 38-38 with this latest triumph.

The Black Bears got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Jim Poole. For the game, Poole went 1-1. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 19th hit of the season gave Fraser Valley a 7-5 lead.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Poole.
