Hellcats Prevail, 4-3, Over Atlantic City
|
The Jacksonville Hellcats racked up a win at Hellcats Park, bumping off the Atlantic City Enforcers, 4-3. Shoichi Ikeda, who started for Jacksonville, pitched effectively for his team. Bruce Berardi notched his 6th save in 10 chances. Even with the win, the Hellcats have a dismal 25-48 record.
The Hellcats got a big at-bat from left fielder Yoshinaka Nishimura. For the game, Nishimura went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 45th hit of the season gave Jacksonville a 3-2 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Nishimura, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
