The Wolverines faced a stiff challenge from Fraser Valley pitcher Leslie Arrington, but persevered to claim a win at Howling Park. The final score was 2-1. Arrington went 8.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Wichita reliever Cliff McDaniel picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Shu-de Tian shouldered the loss. Wichita leads the Bob Moose League Jim Leyland Division by 2 games.

Juan Gruzmán was the walk-off hero for Wichita. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Wolverines second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
