Tornadoes Need Extra Frames to Get Past Grays
|
The Georgia Grays got a superb performance from pitcher Giobbe Tadiotto. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kansas City. The Tornadoes won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Tadiotto was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Munemori Abe, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. The Tornadoes, with just their 1st win in 4 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
The Tornadoes got a big at-bat from first baseman Matt Winters. For the game, Winters was 2 for 5 with a double. In the bottom of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Kansas City a 4-3 lead.
"We did enough to win," said Winters.
