Wolverines Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Black Bears
|
A 3-RBI performance from pinch hitter Johnny Burt led the Wichita Wolverines to a 6-4 win over the Fraser Valley Black Bears. Wichita reliever Al Hrabosky Jr. picked up the win, upping his record to 7-3. Shu-de Tian absorbed the loss. The Wolverines' win now puts them at 37-29.
Burt had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 2-1 cutter from Shu-de Tian, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Wolverines a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Burt.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Burt.
