Benefiting from Derek Warford's productive game, the Fraser Valley Black Bears downed the Sandy Springs Spartans, 12-11. Warford went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Black Bears. Fraser Valley reliever Michael Burman picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jae-bok Han absorbed the loss. Shu-de Tian was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 15 save opportunities.

Warford had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 fastball from Jae-bok Han, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Black Bears a 12-11 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Warford.

"We got the victory," said Warford. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The Black Bears now have a record of 33-33.
