Dallas turned a good effort from starter Benjamin Piece into a win over the Portland Beavers at Metroplex Park. The final score was 5-1. The Texans raised their record to 19-20.

Had Sean Clare not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Clare hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 4-1, in favor of the Texans.

"Enjoyed this one," Clare told the Dallas Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
