Shamrocks Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Pacifica Shamrocks beat the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 7-6, at McCormick Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Barry Huffman, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Mudasser Sabzvari got credit for the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Pacifica is now 44-20, 11 games up in the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division.
Pacifica won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Ji-hwan Yea on the mound for Buzzard's Bay, pinch hitter Balik Godambe hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Shamrocks fans to their feet.
"This joint was rocking," said Godambe.
