Alan Gorringe never let Spokane get something going. The DeKalb right-hander commanded his splitter in pitching the Cornhuskers to a 5-1 win. The Cornhuskers bumped their record to 37-27 with this latest triumph.
Bailey Povey aided the DeKalb cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Povey. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
