The Rock River Rats knocked off the Long Island Ducks, 7-6, at The Rat Hole. Don Newbold, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Rock River won. The first baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Hima Chinnappan got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The Rats bumped their record to 36-29 with this latest triumph.

Jim Feightner was the walk-off hero for Rock River. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rats second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
