Not everyone stuck through the 59-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

The Jacksonville Hellcats downed the Frisco Rams, 7-6, at Hellcats Park. The Hellcats were led by Pancho Benavidez, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Jacksonville reliever Tadakatsu Murayama was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Andrés Nevárez took the loss for Frisco.

Had Jamie DeWoody not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, DeWoody hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Hellcats.

In postgame comments to the Jacksonville Gazette, Benavidez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

Even with the win, the Hellcats have a dismal 22-41 record.
