Hawks Come Back Late to Top Hellcats
Boise and Jacksonville duked it out at Basque Block Field and the Hawks came out victorious.

The Boise Hawks got a strong performance from pitcher Sean Nichols, who stymied the Jacksonville offense en route to a 4-1 win at Basque Block Field. In 8 innings, Nichols surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Hiroo Okimura notched his 16th save in 17 chances.

Had Bill Rendell not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rendell hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Hawks.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Rendell told the Boise Chronicle.

Boise has now won 5 games in a row.
