Mustangs Prove Rude Guests, Win 5-3 at Quebec
|
The Mile High Mustangs beat the Quebec Armada, 5-3, at Lucky 7 Ballpark. The Mustangs got a fine performance from center fielder Héctor Lara, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Mile High reliever Doyle Sullivan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mitsuo Kobayashi absorbed the loss. The Mustangs raised their record to 18-19.
The Mustangs got a big at-bat from shortstop Gerard Wych. For the game, Wych was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Mile High a 3-1 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Wych told the Mile High Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
