The Beavers had to overcome a fine effort from Dallas pitcher Tony López to grab a narrow 6-5 win at Metroplex Park. López went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Jian-guo Yang, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 4 hits in 4 innings. Olivier Martin locked down his 6th save.

The Beavers got a big at-bat from center fielder Teruo Sato. For the game, Sato was 1-4 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Portland a 6-5 lead.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Sato told the Portland Gazette.

The win boosts the Beavers to 17-22. The loss puts the Texans at 18-20.
