Wichita used a superb performance from starting pitcher Magyver McKenzie to down the Topeka Predators, 4-1. Al Hrabosky Jr. converted his 13th save in 15 tries. The Wolverines bumped their record to 32-26 with this latest triumph.

The Wolverines got a big at-bat from center fielder Brian Nadin. For the game, Nadin was 1-1. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 10th hit of the season gave Wichita a 2-1 lead.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said McKenzie.
