Hernández Goes Wild, But Spartans Win
The DeKalb Cornhuskers got a superb performance from second baseman José Hernández, but the Sandy Springs Spartans still won the game, 9-7. Hernández was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Tom Polk closed it out for his 1st save. The Spartans bumped their record to 29-27 with this latest triumph.

Phil Morgan aided the Sandy Springs cause with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
