The Newark Jail Birds downed the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 7-1, at Cobras Ballpark. The Jail Birds were led by Jeffrey O'Connor, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Newark reliever Ralph Bergeron picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Qing-lai Juan took the loss. Francisco Encarnación converted his 1st save in 2 tries.
