Bombers Win at Cabo San Lucas, 8-3
|
The South Carolina Bombers beat the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 8-3, at Field de Los Layendas. The Bombers got a fine performance from second baseman Jean-Claude Petit, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Aidan Carrick, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. South Carolina, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Alexander Beck's at-bat in the top of the second inning was a big one for South Carolina. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and South Carolina leading 2-0, the shortstop hit a run-scoring single.
"It feels good to get this one," Petit told the South Carolina Times.
