Silicon Valley beat Wichita on the strength of starter Tim Carson's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. The Hackers bumped their record to 29-20 with this latest triumph.

Lance Vallery, who is tied for 5th in the ACL in hits with 64, aided the Silicon Valley cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"Tim is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Silicon Valley manager Bob Miller.
