Victory Pushes Black Bears Record to 29-19
|
The rain at Cobras Ballpark did not keep Fraser Valley and Newark from finishing their game.
Jack Zapor left his imprint on the 7-3 Fraser Valley win against the Newark Jail Birds. Zapor, who is tied for 2nd in the FFL in RBI with 43, went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Black Bears bumped their record to 29-19 with this latest triumph.
The Black Bears got a big at-bat from left fielder Alex Allen. For the game, Allen went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 18th hit of the season gave Fraser Valley a 2-0 lead.
"I like our moxie," said Black Bears manager Casey Ramey.
