Storm Troopers Turn Back Riverside, 7-5
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers topped the Riverside Red Bulls by the score of 7-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Jacob Runk. Runk went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Storm Troopers on the day. San Antonio reliever Steve Becker picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Daryl Walder took the loss. The first-place Storm Troopers have a one-game lead in their division.
Runk had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Daryl Walder, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Storm Troopers a 7-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Runk.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Runk said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
