Enforcers Lose, 8-4, at The Stetson Bowl
|
The Fraser Valley Black Bears beat the Atlantic City Enforcers, 8-4, at The Stetson Bowl. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Ricardo Díaz, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Fraser Valley reliever Michael Burman picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ted Thian took the loss. The Black Bears bumped their record to 27-18 with this latest triumph.
Díaz had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch slider from Ted Thian, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Black Bears a 5-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Díaz.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Díaz told the Fraser Valley Daily News.
