Lights Walk Off with Win
|
The Lights grabbed a win, 5-4, at UFO Field, overcoming a fine effort from Pacifica pitcher Félix Ruíz. Ruíz went 7.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Phoenix is now 20-23, Pacifica 28-17.
The Lights were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when catcher Natsume Honda turned a 1-2 fastball from Mudasser Sabzvari into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Phoenix a thrilling 5-4 win.
"This wasn't a good win," said Honda. "It was a great win."
