Wichita starter Cliff McDaniel pitched effectively against the Carson City Mustang at Howling Park. The right-hander led his team to a 6-0 win. In 8 innings, McDaniel surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. The Wolverines bumped their record to 22-19 with this latest triumph.

Bob Wright, who is tied for 10th in the FFL in home runs with 7, aided the Wichita cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," McDaniel told the Wichita Herald.
