|
Cincinnati pitcher Brendan Womersley did his part in helping his team beat the Wichita Wolverines, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Womersley, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. Even with the win, the Snaps have a dismal 12-27 record.
The Snaps got a big at-bat from first baseman Rien van Helvert. For the game, van Helvert was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Cincinnati a 3-1 lead.
