Spartans Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Rats
|
The Sandy Springs Spartans electrified the home crowd at The Coliseum with a walk-off win.
Sandy Springs turned a good effort from starter Rubén Villalobos into a win over the Rock River Rats at The Coliseum. The final score was 3-2. Reliever Riley Goodall picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Ramón Román took the loss.
Hirofumi Ishibashi was the walk-off hero for Sandy Springs. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Spartans right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Ishibashi said.
At 20-20, the Spartans are currently 4th in the Bob Moose League Bruce Bochy Division.
