Hackers Stymie Frisco, Take 5-0 Win
|
Silicon Valley pitcher Mario Deleón did his part in helping his team beat the Frisco Rams, 5-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Deleón, now 5-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing no earned runs. The Hackers bumped their record to 22-17 with this latest triumph.
The Hackers beat the Rams with some clutch hitting. The single by Lance Vallery in the bottom of the fourth is a good example. With two down, Vallery gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"We played hard and won," said Deleón. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
