Mustang Rally to Eke Out Win
Madison right fielder Bill Gaffaney was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Carson City beat the Beehive, 9-8. Gaffaney was named the player of the game despite the loss. Keith Noble, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save. The Mustang move to 18-19 with the win, while the Beehive drop to 12-26.

Vahe Kordonskaya had a nice at-bat for the Mustang with no one out in the top of the tenth. With the bases empty, the first baseman got hit by a pitch, which would prove important in the Carson City win.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Kordonskaya.
