The Rock River Rats defeated the Sandy Springs Spartans, 7-4, at The Coliseum today. Leading the charge for Rock River was right fielder Nelson Middleton. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Reliever Josh Hunt picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Takuya Funaki took the loss. Rock River is now 18-18.

The Rats got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Edgar García. For the game, García went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Rock River a 6-4 lead.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Middleton told the Rock River Daily News.
