Snaps Come Up Short at Carson City
|
Carson City rode a decent outing from starter Iemitsu Shiroi to victory over the Cincinnati Snaps at Cowboys Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Shiroi went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-3. Gerry LaForest earned his 6th save in 9 tries.
The Mustang got a big at-bat from first baseman Vahe Kordonskaya. For the game, Kordonskaya was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Carson City a 3-1 lead.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Carson City manager Nobuharu Chikafuji.
The Mustang bumped their record to 17-17 with this latest triumph.
