Multi-HR Day for Okada as Monarchs Overpower Beetlecats, 8-6
|
The Marysville Monarchs topped the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 8-6, in Cory Lidle League action at Bloomfield Road. The player of the game was Marysville right fielder Sakutaro Okada. The Monarchs bumped their record to 23-10 with this latest triumph.
The Monarchs got a big at-bat from catcher Jody Fread. For the game, Fread went 1-3 with a hit by pitch. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 24th hit of the season gave Marysville a 6-5 lead.
"We'll savor this win," Okada told the Marysville Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
