Tobías Now 1-1 After Subduing Jail Birds
|
The 2033 season is getting ugly for Newark.
Buzzard's Bay right-hander Jesús Tobías pitched his team to a shutout win, 3-0, over the Newark Jail Birds. The Beetlecats raised their record to 17-18.
Tobías was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 1-1. In 8 innings of work, Tobías gave up no earned runs on 3 hits, while striking out 6. The Jail Birds were never able to generate much offense.
"Enjoyed this one," Tobías told the Buzzard's Bay Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
