The Rubber City Rhinos defeated the Dallas Texans, 10-1, at The Rubber Grounds. Rubber City shortstop Billy Joel was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The winner was Vincent Vickers, who threw 113 pitches over 7.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 6 hits. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Rhinos.
Joel had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Rhinos went on to win.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Rubber City manager Larry Johnson.
