Enforcers Prevail, 6-5, Over Phoenix
|
The Atlantic City Enforcers did just enough to sneak past the Phoenix Lights, 6-5, at Parliament Field. Atlantic City second baseman John Dyck earned player of the game honors. Andy Mendoza, the winner, improved to 3-2. He held the Lights to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 3. The Lights fall to 12-18 and continue their uneven start to the 2033 season.
Jen-kan Yi, who is tied for 7th in the ACL with a .993 OPS, aided the Atlantic City cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Dyck.
