Conditions were not ideal but Sandy Springs and DeKalb were able to put their game in the books.

Behind a solid performance from left fielder Kieran Alexander, the Sandy Springs Spartans defeated the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 9-6. Alexander slugged 3 home runs. He drove in 9 runs and scored three times for the Spartans. With the win, Sandy Springs goes to 18-14.

Alexander had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 curveball from Ryan Shelton, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Spartans a 9-6 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Alexander.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Alexander.
