Cornhuskers Rally For Late Win Over Spartans
DeKalb beat Sandy Springs at The Corn Crib, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Alan Gorringe, who earned player of the game honors. DeKalb reliever Ryan Shelton picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Bill Harris was saddled with the loss. DeKalb, now 20-11, has gotten their season off to a good start.

José Hernández aided the DeKalb cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman was 1-4 with a home run.

"We were in it," said Sandy Springs manager José Parra. "We just didn't score enough runs."
