The Pacifica Shamrocks eked out a 4-3 win versus the Rock River Rats at The Rat Hole. Nobody did more than pitcher Félix Ruíz, who captured player of the game honors. Pacifica reliever Mudasser Sabzvari was the winner. His record is now 4-1. Ramón Román took the loss. The win brings the Shamrocks to 20-10, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Nobutsugu Yamaguchi's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a cutter from Ramón Román for a run-scoring single. It put Pacifica in front, 4-3.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Yamaguchi told the Pacifica News.
