Riding the 4-hit performance of the 21-year old right fielder Tim Hinson, the Marysville Monarchs stopped the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 13-1. Phil Lovelace got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. Gabriel Mendoza earned the save for Marysville, his 1st of the year.

The Monarchs got a big at-bat from center fielder Shoshi Kimura. For the game, Kimura was 1 for 4 with a walk. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 13th hit of the season gave Marysville a 1-0 lead.

"I like easy wins," Hinson told the Marysville Herald.

The Monarchs, now 21-8, have been on a roll in the early going.
