|
Boise left fielder Joe Coleman was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Long Island beat the Hawks, 5-4. Coleman was named the player of the game despite the loss. Long Island reliever Takamasa Oki picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Hiroo Okimura shouldered the loss. The Hawks drop to 14-14 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2033 season.
Tae-soo Yi was the walk-off hero for Long Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Ducks center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Boise manager Tom Becker said following the tough loss.
