Rams Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
San Antonio got a terrific game from first baseman Jacob Runk. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Frisco, 8-7. Runk was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The Storm Troopers fall to 13-16 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Frisco used the timely hitting of Kunihiro Shibata to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put the Rams on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 7 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We came out aggressive," said Rams manager Will Bartlett. "We came out swinging the bats."
