Predators Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Newark
|
Newark third baseman Jeffrey O'Connor had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-4, to Topeka at Cobras Ballpark. O'Connor was 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Michiomi Moteki earned the win for Topeka. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 3-1. The save was Ross Batstone's, his 4th.
Greg DeHart aided the Topeka cause with a 2-run single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1-1. He drove in 2 runs.
"Baseball is about momentum," said DeHart, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Jail Birds, now 9-17, continue their poor start.
