Monarchs Get Past Carson City for 8-7 Win
|
Marysville first baseman Bill Riel was instrumental in his team's 8-7 win over the Carson City Mustang. Riel went 1-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Monarchs. Marysville, now 20-6, is playing great baseball to start the year.
Riel had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-1 cutter from Gerry LaForest, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Monarchs a 8-7 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Riel.
"We got the victory," said Riel. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
