Islanders Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Hawaii Islanders got a strong performance from pitcher Norogumi Yokoyama, who stymied the Brooklyn offense en route to a 3-2 win at Aloha Stadium. Hawaii reliever Bernalldo Rocchi picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Ti-an Dan was saddled with the loss. The Islanders' win now puts them at 20-14.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Hawaii first baseman Jim Burry, facing Ti-an Dan, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Islanders the 3-2 win.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Burry.
