Rams Jolt Monarchs with Late Rally
|
Frisco and Marysville duked it out at Mitts Fieldhouse and the Rams came out victorious.
Marysville got a terrific game from third baseman Tadao Nishikawa. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Frisco, 11-8. Nishikawa was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Frisco reliever José Trevino was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Julián Salazar took the loss for Marysville.
This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the ninth, Stanton Miller drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Rams took the lead, 9-8.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Miller said after the game.
Losses have been rare for the Monarchs, who are now 17-6.
