The Wichita Wolverines downed the Sandy Springs Spartans, 9-4, at The Coliseum. Bob Wright led the way, going 3-for-5 for Wichita. Wichita reliever Carlos Muńóz was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Shinsuke Suzuki took the loss for Sandy Springs. The Wolverines, now 16-7, have been on a roll in the early going.

Francisco Enriquez, who is tied for 8th in the FFL in RBI with 21, chipped in for Wichita with a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
