Victory Pushes Red Bulls Record to 12-8
|
Red Bull Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Newark Jail Birds and Riverside Red Bulls.
Riverside Red Bulls starter Héctor Bello turned in a sterling performance against the Newark Jail Birds, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Iván Cabrera, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Lien-ying Mar recorded his 5th save for Riverside.
Riverside took a 3-2 lead on Germán Bravo's 10th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Bravo hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Newark pitcher Francisco Encarnación shaking his head.
"I felt good up there," said Bravo. "I saw the ball well."
The Jail Birds fall to 6-13 and continue their uneasy start to the 2033 season.
